How it works

A restoration contractor gets paid when the insurance adjuster accepts the job file. For a water loss that means photos of every affected room, moisture readings by point, daily drying logs showing how the structure dried, the equipment used and for how long, and notes on what was removed. Missing a day of readings or a photo of a wall before demolition can turn into a long argument over the invoice.

Field documentation software exists, but much of it is priced per seat or for larger companies, per user or as a company plan that adds up quickly. Restoration Job Desk is built for small and mid-size contractors who want complete documentation without a heavy system.

When a job starts, the technician creates it on the phone: address, type of loss, date and the rooms involved. Photos are taken room by room and tagged automatically with the room and the date. Notes and short voice memos can be attached to any photo.

Moisture readings are entered on a simple sketch of each room at the points measured. Each day the technician enters new readings at the same points, and the drying log shows the progress toward the drying goal. Rooms that reach the goal are marked dry with the date.

Equipment placed on site — air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers — is recorded by room when it is placed and when it is removed, so the number of equipment days is clear and matches the invoice.

At any moment the office can produce the job file: photos in order by room, moisture maps, drying logs, equipment days and notes. It goes to the adjuster as one organized document, and the homeowner can receive a version that shows what was done in their home.

All jobs stay in the archive by address and claim number. When the adjuster asks a question months later, the answer is found in seconds.

The office sees all active jobs on one screen: which rooms are drying, which are dry, how many pieces of equipment are on each site and which jobs are ready to close. Technicians get a reminder when daily readings are due, so no day is missed. When a job closes, the file is complete the same day instead of a week later.

The service keeps records of your crews' work; the job, the readings and the invoice remain the responsibility of your company. We are not affiliated with any insurer, estimating software or certification body.

Questions

Is this for water losses only?

No. It works for water, fire, smoke and mold jobs; moisture logs are used where drying is part of the job.

Does it track equipment days?

Yes. Equipment is recorded by room when placed and removed, so equipment days are counted.

Can I send the file to the adjuster?

Yes, as one organized document with photos, readings, logs and notes.

Is it priced per user?

Yes, per field user, with office users included.

Can I use it already?

Not yet. The service is in preparation, and we are checking whether contractors need it.
